Jongwon Choi

Jongwon Choi, born 1981 in Seoul, Korea. Choi has used a computer for 21 years and he used a modem as early as 1993. Since 1996, Choi has had an e-mail account and has owned a cell phone since 1999. Electronic devices dictate his everyday life. Since 2007, he has studied at the Academy of Media Arts Cologne.

 
Tobias Daemgen

Tobias Daemgen, born 1980 in Braunschweig. Daemgen studied communication design at the University of Applied Sciences D¸sseldorf. In 2007, he co-founded the artists network “RaumZeitPiraten” along with Moritz Ellerich. Since 2008, he has undertaken postgraduate studies at the Academy of Media Arts Cologne.

Anna Gonzalez Suero

Anna Gonzalez Suero, born 1980 in Miami, USA. Gonzalez Suero studied at the Cooper Union in New York and at the Gerrit Rietveld in Amsterdam. Since 2007, she has been a student at the Academy of Media Arts Cologne.

 
Akiro Hellgardt

Akiro Hellgardt, born in Hanover, Germany. Hellgardt studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Karlsruhe and at the Valand School of Fine Arts in Agathenburg. Since 2009, he has been postgraduate student at the Academy of Media Arts Cologne.

 
Hörner|Antlfinger

Hörner|Antlfinger have been an artist couple since the early 1990s. In their retro futuristic practice, they combine ancient technologies of consciousness with new media and juxtapose personal visions with their collective counterpart. Both artists teach at the Academy of Media Arts Cologne.

Derek Holzer, born 1972 in the USA. Holzer works in the field of DIY analogue electronics, sound art, field recording and at the intersection of electroacoustic, noise, improvisational and extreme music. Since 2009, he has been a fellow at the Academy of Media Arts Cologne.

Echo Ho / Lasse Scherffig

Echo Ho explores the field between art (visual / acoustic), design (musical instruments, wearable devices), improvisation (performances) and site-specific narration (installations). Since 2007, Ho has been a member of the artistic and academic staff of the KHM.

Theresa Krause, born 1979 in Arnstadt. In 2001, Krause completed an apprenticeship in glass painting. Since 2006, she has studied at the Academy of Media Arts Cologne.

 
Karin Lingnau

Karin Lingnau, born 1971 in Cologne. Lingnau studied social sciences and industrial design in Cologne, Eindhoven and ZKM Karlsruhe. Since completing a postgraduate degree at the Academy of Media Arts in Cologne, Lingnau has recently joined the artistic and academic staff.

Laura Popplow, born 1983 in Frankfurt/Main. Popplow studied cultural science and aesthetic communication at the University Hildesheim and Media Design and Art at the ESAD in Caldas da Rainha, Portugal. Since 2008, she has undertaken postgraduate studies at the Academy of Media Arts Cologne.

Martin Rumori

Martin Rumori, born 1976 in Berlin. Rumori studied musicology and computer science in Berlin. Since 2005, he has been a member of the artistic and academic staff of the KHM, Klanglabor. In his artistic practice, he focuses on creating sound installations, audio programming and audio augmented environments.

Wonbaek Shin

Wonbaek Shin, born 1982 in Incheon, Korea. Shin studied digital media design at HONGIK University, Seoul, Korea. In 2005, he worked in the electronics division of ROKAF (Republic of Korea Air Force), where he was responsible for the maintenance of fighter plane batteries. Since 2009, he has studied at the Academy of Media Arts Cologne.
