I did not choose me

JUN PARK
Installation, 2010
(3D print, parabolic mirrors, motors)

I did not choose me is an installation that uses optical illusion. Reflected by hidden parabolic mirrors, two 3D sculptures of the artist’s face appear to hang (immaterially) in the space.

Two faces confront each other. Both faces mirror my own. One face looks to the other and says, “Yes”. The other side says, “No”. Again, one face looks to the other and replies, “Yes”. The other side responds with, “No”.
With this work, I explore the notion of my existence and my relationship to it.
